Photography
Create a conceptual advertisement for a product or service, using original photography as the central element. The advert must feature a model combined with a landscape, astro, or architectural setting. The final design should emphasise the photograph, keeping the layout simple and impactful. All images must be self-produced, with no pre-produced backgrounds or stock photos allowed.
Concept
I titled my concept For Still Moments, designed as an advertisement for a Peterson pipe. The intent is to evoke the warmth and calm that come from taking a few moments out of the day to enjoy a Peterson pipe. To convey this, I posed the model—dressed in vintage clothing—holding the pipe in various poses within the same composition, illustrating multiple moments of stillness. By situating the figures along a tree-lined path, I aimed to capture a sense of tranquillity amidst the movement of life

Process
Inspired by Oslo’s autumn landscape, I aimed to capture a rural, luxurious, and nostalgic aesthetic. Drawing influence from vintage Vivienne Westwood fashion shoots, I scouted locations that featured rich autumn colours and soft, slanting sunlight. After selecting a path beneath trees, I waited for the weather conditions to be right.
The model, chosen for his wardrobe of a long overcoat, cashmere scarf, and wide-legged trousers, fit the luxury vintage menswear theme. I refined my camera settings to achieve balanced exposure, using ISO 100, f5.6 aperture, and a 1/125 shutter speed.
In post-production, I layered multiple figures along the path for depth, ensuring consistent shadows. To enhance the vintage feel, I adjusted exposure, curves, and added grain, referencing 1970s fashion photography. The final touch was a torn parchment effect on the bottom corner, inspired by Peterson’s branding, as a canvas for the logo.
